Russell Westbrook’s pregame outfit has NBA Twitter talking

Ahead of the Washington Wizards’ game against the Denver Nuggets, Russell Westbrook’s pregame outfit had social media buzzing.

When it comes to Washington Wizards point guard Russell Westbrook, he always catches the attention of NBA Twitter. Whether it was dancing during a delay during which the scorer’s table at Madison Square Garden began smoking or air balling a free throw attempt on Valentines Day, Russ always creates a stir.

Westbrook again had social media users talking prior to Wednesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, as he walked into the arena wearing a gigantic yellow coat. Of course, the tweets ensued.

Westbrook’s coat was the talk of the NBA

Westbrook’s bright yellow coat reminded fans of Dick Tracy, the Gorton’s fisherman and even the character Georgie in the horror film IT. To be honest, Westbrook was probably looking at the weather, as a snowstorm is supposed to hit the northeast on Thursday. The man was planning ahead!

Putting the raincoat aside, the Wizards have put together a three-game win streak! They managed to hold on and defeat the Nuggets, 130-128. With the contest tied at 125 late with 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Washington got a break in the form of a shooting foul called on Nuggets forward JaMychal Green. That allowed forward Davis Bertans three shots at the charity stripe, and he made all of them.

After Denver tied things up again at 128 in the form of a Jamal Murray 3-pointer, Green again was called for a shooting foul, this time on Bradley Beal. The Wizards guard made both free-throw attempts and secured the victory.

Westbrook managed to secure a triple-double by scoring 12 points (on 5-of-15 shooting from field), grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out 12 assists.

No one will talk about Westbrook’s stat-line though, as it was all about his coat.
