Lakers rumors: Anthony Davis may have a plan to bring Giannis to L.A.

Los Angeles Lakers, NBA Free Agency, NBA Trade Rumors

Anthony Davis could structure his new contract with the Lakers in a way that will help them land Giannis Antetekounmpo next summer.

Fresh off winning another NBA Finals title, life is good for the Los Angeles Lakers. With that being said, could things somehow end up getting better for them next summer with a Greek God landing in their arms? That’s what Anthony Davis is hoping for.

Per NBA insider Brian Windhorst, Davis might be waiting to sign his new contract with the Lakers because he’s waiting to see what Giannis Antetokounmpo decides with the Milwaukee Bucks. If Antetekounmpo decides to hit free agency in 2021, Davis is reportedly ready to structure his contract in a way that will help Los Angeles go after Antetokounmpo.

Davis already has thousands and thousands of fans all over California. He may have support to run for governor if Antetokounmpo joins him and LeBron James in 2021. Antetokounmpo will be without question the biggest name on the free-agent market next year, as he’s won back-to-back NBA MVP awards.

Davis knows Antetokounmpo is a generational player and could have the Lakers in a position to dominate the league if he were to join the team. The plans of Antetokounmpo potentially joining the team all hinges on whether or not he enters free agency. If Antetokounmpo ends up signing his max contract and stays in Milwaukee for the long haul, Davis’ plan will go up in flames.

Antetokounmpo’s upcoming decision is one that fans across the country are anxiously waiting for him to make. If he doesn’t sign a monster new deal, you better believe the Antetokounmpo to LA rumors will start flying around, no doubt.
